“Space Making” Workshop
The “Space Making” workshop unpacks the question around cultural identity within artmaking. Yukina Sato (Tokyo, Japan) invites two guest artists, Ayako Kato (Chicago, IL) and Nami Yamamoto (NY, NY), who immigrated from Japan and continue their art-making careers in the United States. Through our dialogue, we will unfold all the layers of hardship, joy, and achievement of their artistic journeys. And listen to their self-discovery as independent artists and their relationship with roots and cultural representation. Participants have a chance to move together by choice.
